"awhile" is approx 2 minutes, and was done a *long* time ago I thought.
  You still having problems?

Valid, but likely to be deprecated/unecessary soon.

Found the problem, fixing Makefile's and rebuilding repodata now.

Well, I have a patched version of kdebluetooth-beta2 with SuSE's dbus
pin helper (no changes to bluez needed) working with FC7.. It does have
a few problems in that you have to use the gnome-bluetooth utility to
make the machine visible, so I'll dig around and see what is wrong.

If you want to help test, send email and I'll send RPM's to try.

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] arts and kdm problems under fedora 7
Message: 5

Hello,

under fedora 7 and kde 3.5.6 I could not login with kdm via a remote
connection (xdmcp). This works with gdm and also works under fc6 with
kdm. If I replace the fedora 7 /usr/bin/kdm with this one from fc6,
then the remote login works. Is this a bug in kdm of fedora 7?

Under fc6 several users could login on the same computer via xdmcp and
kdm, and all have sound. I reach this with the following lines:

cd /dev/
chmod 0666 dsp* audio* midi* mixer* sequencer* beep admm* \
adsp* aload* amidi* dmfm* dmmidi* sndstat rtc sequencer*
chown root.532 dsp* audio* midi* mixer* sequencer* beep admm* \
adsp* aload* amidi* dmfm* dmmidi* sndstat rtc sequencer*
chmod 0666 snd/*
chown root.532 snd/*

Under fedora 7 only the user has sound who is local log in (with kdm,
not via remote). All other users log in via remote (xdmcp) get the
folowing error from aRts:

device: default can't be opened for playback (No such device)
The sound server will continue, using the null output device.

How can I reach that all users log in, remote and local, get sound like
this works under fc6?

Thank you.

regards
Olaf

bugzilla please.

This was a lucky hack, at best. :)

Instead of hacking permissions, edit/fix /etc/console.perms and/or put
something under /etc/console.perms.d/

In addition, there may be something going on here related to ConsoleKit.

There are certain e-mails I want to receive in html, and I've configured a few
folders that way. But, there are certain html pages that come in and don't
conform to the page size window I've set and instead force me to scroll from
side to side to see the whole message. I know the html does work in other
programs because, for example, if I open the same message in Outlook, the
html conforms to the window size I've set. I've hunted through all the
settings but I don't see any way of forcing the correct behavior. Am I
missing something?

Hello,

Would it be possible to build a x86_64 rpm for ksystemlog. It is a log analyzer and \
kde on fedora doesn't have one. Gnome has one but i dont want to install all the \
dependencies associated with it. The website is \
here--->http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=23761

I already contacted the developer and he suggested I contact fedora packagers.

Hi Rex

Found an issue with kdebase and confirmed in the SRPMS.

The patch for nspluginwrapper is not applied to the SRPMS. It is listed as
patch 200, its just not applied. Consequently, flash plugin won't work.

Anyway. I'm trying to recompile and I'll let you know what happens.

Eli
