If memory serves, a similar menu problem wrt CrossOver was reported here
in the not too distant past, and the root cause was a malformed xml/menu
file from CrossOver.

OK - I missed that. It didn't turn to be too big a deal in the end...

Strangely enough, I just received a Word doc in an email and opened it up with 
MSWord and it was a total mess. Closed it and re-opened with OOo and it came 
up exactly like it was supposed to - it was just a text message I'd sent to 
someone that they'd brought into Word and used bolding to highlight some 
responses to questions --
