Message: 1

Hello,

Can anybody confirm the following error?
On visiting http://www.sun.com/aboutsun/media/index.jsp, konqueror
crashes with a segfault.

System:
kdebase-3.5.5-1.1.fc6.kde
kernel-2.6.18-1.2869.fc6

Does anybody knows a workaround?

Thanks
Olaf

For me, it doesn't "stop" loading under firefox either. May have
something to do with the flash bits embedded on the page?

newer freetype/fontconfig may give different (hopefully better) rendering.

Further, the default font family changed in fc6 to dejavu fonts
(predecessor to bitstream vera).

Strange. Loads and displays fine here.

kdebase-3.5.5-1.1.fc6.kde
kernel-2.6.18-1.2869.fc6

On an x86_64 install.

After some experiences I come to the following temporarily conclusion.
With the following plugins installed, konqueror does not/never crash.
- libflashplayer.so (flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.78)
- libjavaplugin_oji.so (java version "1.6.0" (build 1.6.0-b105))
- libnullplugin.so
- libunixprintplugin.so

With the following plugins installed, konqueror does crash.
- kaffeineplugin.so (kaffeine-0.8.3-2.fc6)
- mplayerplug-in.so (mplayer-1.0-0.66.rc1.lvn6)
- mplayerplug-in-dvx.so
- mplayerplug-in-wmp.so
- mplayerplug-in-qt.so
- mplayerplug-in-rm.so
- nppdf.so (Acrobat 7.0)
- nsdejavu.so (djvulibre-3.5.17-2.fc6)
- nphelix.so (RealPlayer 10.0.7.785 (gold))
- nphelix.xpt
For the present I could not more enclose the plugin responsible for the
crash cause of no definite behaviour of konqueror, sorry.

Olaf

And now, the winners are:
- nphelix.so (RealPlayer 10.0.7.785 (gold))
- nphelix.xpt
- mplayerplug-in-rm.so (mplayerplug-in-3.35-1.lvn6)

Has anybody an idea how to fix this?

Olaf

I've got all of these, except mplayerplug-in and nsdeajavu on my box, so
I'd guess it was one of those... (:
