Crap, crap, crap. qt is *supposed* to be binary-compatible. I'll take
a closer look.

It appears to also affect fc5 w/qt-3.3.7-0.1.fc5 update. Oh, I wish
someday fedora (core) would (consistently) use their updates-testing
repo. *Sigh*

Sorry to harp on this issue. But this whole issue could be avoided with
apt-get and pinning.

Sure, but that's just a bandaid for a real/bigger problem (in this case
anyway).

True, but you were going to get 3.3.7 out the door pretty soon anyway,
right? So this would buy you the time you needed without getting
feedback about qt not being compatible with kde both sets of packages
coming from kde-redhat. And you wouldn't have to scramble.

Double crap. Turns out this apparent binary incompatibility is induced
by qt-copy's 0036-qprogressbar-optimization.patch, so it seems to be a
problem of our own making. bummer.

Regardless, rebuilt kdelibs-3.5.5-0.8 pkgs are building now.

Hi,
while updating packages in FC6 I get:

Transaction Check Error: file /usr/lib/kde3/kfile_mpeg.so conflicts between
attempted installs of kdemultimedia-3.5.5-0.1.fc6 and
kdemultimedia-extras-nonfree-3.5.5-0.1.fc6

I noticed that the new kdelibs are already available. :-)

Am I allowed to use the word "crap" any more today? (I think I've

I guess you didn't intended to do this for FC5? I get:
Error: Missing Dependency: qt >= 1:3.3.7 is needed by package kdelibs

Yep, sure did. You need to use the qt-3.3.7-0.1 update.
