Subject: [kde-redhat-users] x86_64 crash in imap4 kioslave
Message: 1

Hi,
Has anyone run into the problem reported in the following?
       http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=134568
In short, the imap4 crashes consistently on x86_64 when using kde-redhat or
Fedroa RPMS. One way to work around it is to compile the imap4 ioslave in
debug mode (but not necessarily the rest of kdepim).

Regards,
Ravi

Subject: [kde-redhat-users] sound problems with Skype,
	KDE Control Center sound system
Message: 2

I'm suddenly having an intractable problem with Skype which had been
functioning fairly well till recently:

1) The "fairly well" part of my description has to do with Skype seeming to
have problems making successive calls. On a fresh start, it would always work
perfectly. Sometimes, by the second, but always after less than 5 calls, I
would get a "call failed" message, and the workaround was to shut down Skype
completely and then restart it. Sometimes, when this would happen, I would
also lose audio in other areas, such as mplayerplug-in not playing the sound
in video files - again, restarting the app would always fix things. It was
annoying, but bearable.
2) In the past week, I've developed a new problem: I can make a call, but the
receiver of the call could not hear me.

So why am I posting this here? I'm suspecting there's an Alsa problem, or, a
problem with the KDE sound system. Without going into a lot of detail on days
of troubleshooting, the issue that makes wonder about the KDE sound system is
that when changing the hardware to "Full Duplex" mode, and clicking
on "Apply", I go into an endless loop - the progress bar goes from 0-100 and
then starts over, over and over.

/dev/dsp permissions are a little strange - they are set to me (cj) as user,
and root as group - read and write are enabled for cj only

a kudzu probe yields the following:

class: AUDIO
bus: PCI
detached: 0
driver: snd-intel8x0
desc: "Intel Corporation 82801G (ICH7 Family) AC'97 Audio Controller"
vendorId: 8086
deviceId: 27de
subVendorId: 1462
subDeviceId: 7151
pciType: 1
pcidom: 0
pcibus: 0
pcidev: 1e
pcifn: 2

Does anyone else have this issue? Does anyone spot anything in the info I've
provided, or can anyone think of anything else I need to check or info I
should provide? I've just tried configuring the card in Control Center again
to Full Duplex, and the progress bar after clicking 'Apply' went back and
forth for over a minute, and has now stopped at 15%. If I close the KDE
session, and log back in, the setting will have taken, and Full Duplex will
be checked.

My mic is otherwise working. I can turn it on and off, raise/lower the volume,
etc... and it's clearly audible in my headset and speakers.
