Subject: [kde-redhat-users] Probelm with HAL after updating to 3.5.4
Message: 1
I am having a problem with HAL after upgrading to kde 3.5.4.
Automounting of usb pen drive was working perfectly before I upgraded
to 3.5.4 . But now it gives an error saying "feature only available
with hal".I am using centos 4.3 with rpmforge and kde-redhat
repositary. Several peole are having same problem and a bug report has
also been filled. It has been obeserved with some other distros also.
But nobody knows the solution. If its the problem with kde 3.5.4 , is
there any way to downgrade it to 3.5.3 .
I installed k3b-1.0-0.1.pre1.fc5.kde from unstable over the weekend.
Unfortunately, I didn't get to try it, it would crash 100% on startup.
Useless (at least to me) backtrace:

Unfortunately, for full dbus/hal support, kde-3.5.4 upped the minimal
version required from hal-0.4.2 to hal-0.5. RHEL4 comes with hal-0.4.2, so
that meant no more hal support. ):

Ill-advise.

Ditto.
I'll see if we can make the hal-0.4.2 work as before.
