Remember, kde-redhat does not *officially* support fc4... yet.

Having said that, fc4 dependancies are pulled from Fedora Extras and
Livna (rpm.livna.org).

Ok, thanks Rex. I'm going real slow on this new rebuild because this machine
has now become a sort of production box on which I depend, even though I am
still very much a learner with Linux. I guess I'll wait. KDE-Redhat is alive
and well on my other two machines. Presumably, you'll notify us when you are
"official" with FC4?

You can go to rpm.pbone.net <http://rpm.pbone.net> and type in the full
names of those packages, and it shoulod come up with them, or a superpack
that includes in and others.

rpm.pbone.net <http://rpm.pbone.net> is where I get my packages, it is the
best I've found so far.

Be careful with this method, as you'll sometimes get hits for packages
not built on/for your distro-release.

Great, this really works here for me too! Things now seems to be more
stable and even fonts file previewing is now possible under konqueror.
This has not been worked here since kde 3.4 under fc3.

Thank you Rex for your work on kde-redhat!

It shows what distro that package is for, and in Advanced Search you can
have only FC4 checkedfor distro.

And it has indeed fixed the kmail crash and konq sound preview bug :-)

Thanks very much Rex

I activated livna repos for fc4 on my home machine - extras is installed with
FC4. This got me past the dependencies problems - thanks Rex.

To Sharon and Sam: I repeated some incorrect info yesterday regarding Livna.
It's partially right, but here's the way to get it all right:

Install the livna-release package to get the correct .repo file and gpg
keys:
rpm -Uvh
http://rpm.livna.org/fedora/4/i386/RPMS.lvn/livna-release-4-0.lvn.2.4.noarch.rpm

This installs a repo file in the right location, with the right definitions -
I only had it one third right.

So I've got KDE-Redhat back and it works so much better than the kde built
into FC4.

Koffice was particularly useful to me because Kword had the ability to open
and convert pdf's, which oo can't do. Is there a way to install it? It has
been dropped in FC4.
