Great eye... I'm assuming that preliminary packages for fc4 are being
rebuilt as
I type. Would you please announce when the rebuild is finished.

Thanks

Hello all,

A rather OT question:
I'm trying to get GLMatrix and other GL screen-savers working on vanilla
KDE 3.4.1 running on FC4/x86-64.
By looking at my KDE-Redhat FC3 machines, I can see that KDE is using
kxsrun/kxsconfig as a mid layer between KDE and xscreensaver.
I couldn't find either of them in my new FC4 installations.
As far as I could see, these binaries were a part of vanilla (AKA non
KDE-Redhat) KDE installations of FC2 and FC3.

So. Am I right? Anyone else seeing this?
Should I report this as a bug?
Is there any way (short of rebuilding KDE) to run GL screensavers under
KDE? (without disabling Kscreensavers and running xscreensaver instead?)

Hello,

this is a real nightmare, I have had never lost a mail before under
linux. But today, kmail (under kontact) crashed and with it my reply
to an mail. My long :-( answer to this mail is now lost and could not
be restored. Ok, now I am a bit disappointed, so please excuse me, but
could it be that using kde under fc4 is not so a good idea?

First RedHat deformed kde, then a special kde-redhat project is
neccessary to make kde usable under RedHat (thank you Rex for your
excellent work, without it, I would be using debian and kde for a long
time now), but then blacklisted the kde project the gcc of fc4 and now
I find myself under a desktop, that crashed all the time (konqueror,
arts, kontact, kicker).
What will be next?

Now, like every ms windows user has it maybe done before, I will type
my lost mail again. :-(

regards
Olaf

We have been finding that it is a good idea to either save the messange as a
draft then move to outbox, or just not run KMail from within Kontact and run
it by itself, they are fixing the problem and rebuilding packages as we
type. The rest of KDE-Redhat for FC4 seems to be working fine, exept for
when sound previews are on in Konq it crashes on icon mouseover.

Hope this helps.
