Once I enter the appropriate lines into /etc/sysconfig/rhn/sources for
the kde-redhat archive, I do the following:

   up2date kde qt arts kdelibs kdebase gtk+ gtk2 redhat-artwork

Which produces the following very healthy list of conflicts:

Ah, well-known up2date bug. I can dig for references in redhat's
bugzilla if you like...

Else, I'd suggest using apt, you can get a copy from:
http://apt.kde-redhat.org/apt/fedora/redhat/el4/i386/RPMS.stable/

You could also grab yum from CentOS:
http://www.gtlib.gatech.edu/pub/centos/4/os/i386/CentOS/RPMS/

Yeah, but then I don't have RHN access. Ah well. I'll dug. Thank you
for your assistance!

Funny thing is, it was working 2 days ago.

I just can't recall if I did an up2date-nox for the FC3 RPMs or a yum update
for the kde-redhat RPMs.

What's the easiest way to find out what RPMs were installed / updated
lately ? ... apart from looking at the dates of the RPM files
in /var/spool/up2date and /var/cache/yum/kde-redhat???/packages
?

Hi:

Anyone get CCRMA's ALSA 1.0.9 and Artsd working with Fedora Core 3? It
appears that the alsa-lib doesn't jive with artsd. Maybe it's my alsa
configuration ... which is an absolute beast to figure out.

Error:

[jeff@kubik ~]$ artsd
unix_connect: can't connect to server
(unix:/tmp/mcop-jeff/kubik_brooks_com-5031-428d948a)
ALSA lib pcm.c:2068:(snd_pcm_open_noupdate) Unknown PCM default
Error while initializing the sound driver:
device: default can't be opened for playback (No such file or directory)

thanks,

I had just assumed it was MSN being useless.
I'm moving to Skype anyway (as transport, Kopete still as the UI).
