Hello Craig,

I think Navindra explained to you already what happened on the dot
regarding IMAP in KDE apps. At the time Aethera was released IMAP
support was already in kmail CVS, but that wasn't announced either. The
imap announcement for kmail came as part of the kde 2.2alpha1
announcement (https://dot.kde.org/987977874/) in the ChangeLog where one
line was dedicated to KMail. It's a bit different to include one line
about IMAP support in KMail in a ChangeLog for a KDE release then to
dedicate an entire story to it, as was the plan with theKompany. I
think I also pointed out to you at the time that I planned to do a story
about IMAP support in KMail and Aethera (which I ended up lacking the
time to do) and also made it clear that if someone else wrote a story
about IMAP support in KDE and mentioned both Aethera and KMail that this
story would be approved, yet nobody volunteered to write this story.

In addition, I would note that the previous beta of Aethera has been
mentioned in a dot article (http://dot.kde.org/979768484/). I have not
seen any other app get two articles on the dot, and certainly never for
two successive beta releases. It is clear that some people consider it
a disappointment when not every software release by theKompany gets a
dot story; yet I have never heard you or anyone else complain when a
major release of free software such as Magellan or Innovation3D does not
get announced on the dot.

It is obvious you don't agree with the dot's editorial policies, Craig,
and that's a healthy thing, but please try not to slander it with
misleading statements like the ones you make above.

Regards,

Dre
