I also go for 14th Oct as the day. Apart from the obvious, it's a bit away 
from release days, Akademy (and other meetings), big holidays in a lot of 
places, etc

One thing that I haven't seen addressed yet is what we actually mean by a 'KDE 
day'. What is it proposed that we do/ask other people to do? Have parties? 
Blog? Display a banner?

Unless we have some ideas for stuff to actually do and ways to promote them it 
doesn't matter what day we pick ;-)
