I think it's much better this way as it makes use of all the space
available. And since the booklet will be A5, we need to use as much space as
possible (without making things too tight of course...).
This layout works fine in my view.

We can keep the idea of having one color for each chapter but I would
suggest then to change the color of all the pages according to this color
(the above label, the sidebar and the box). This means we would have the
same layout for every chapter, and the same color for all the elements of a
chapter (not exactly the "same" color for all the elements, but the "same
kind".. just as you do with the current 'orange').
The whole booklet would be more colorful and maybe it will make it more
"dynamic" and less "boring" to read.
The difficulty will be to choose great colors that will be rendered
correctly when printed and colors that will "make it well with each other" :
maybe some pastels won't make each page too shiny ?
Don't know what this idea worth...it's just one among others...
