Actually I think it would be a nice idea to have an article about
growth and adoption of KDE. It's of course hard to come up with
numbers in many area's, but still...

Besides these numbers/stats, we could mention:
millions of EEE-pc's and Acer Aspire one etc with KDE tech (we might
have had 100% marketshare, but that was in a time there were some
100.000 items shipped/year. Now we have 5-10% of a multi-million
market, so in absolute numbers it's a huge growth)
deployments in countries like Brazil, Russia
Adoption by Maemo, Nokia working on phones with Qt (will in time lead
to KDE stuff on there)
let's not forget that our technology is almost everywhere already in
the form of Phonon and WebKit.
the doubling/tripling (what was it again?) of monetary income in KDE e.V.

And I'm sure there is more. We could collect some numbers for a while
and then create a story?!?
