Kubuntu mostly just applies branding via KIOSK, so that wouldn't be a problem 
anyway.

Ark is RPM based, isn't it? 
If so I wouldn't be of much help on package maintenance (my RPM skills are 
rather limited ;-).

But in general I wouldn't care much about the distribution as long as the 
packages are in good condition and for the events use case, the important part 
would be the ready-to-go-profile anyway.

So, what do the others think?
