What is your definition/requirement for a "clean KDE 4 experience"? We have
the openSUSE branding graphics and settings like Plasma theme in packages
named *-branding-openSUSE. If you install the *-branding-upstream packages
instead you will get a more upstream feel but there will be still patches
(bugfixes, backports, added functionality, integration patches, ...) around
which are not in the KDE release tarballs.

Creating CDs from existing packages is no magic with Kiwi and can be done by
everyone (with help from us if wanted). I rather see a problem if you ask for
maintained openSUSE packages with a complete different set of patches.

From the rest of thread I conclude this is more something for the time of KDE
4.2 release than something which should be done within the next month?
Bye,
Steve
