Be sure to show a Plasma screenshot, if it looks good, not if it doesn't... :D

Indeed, I agree. A little rest for now ;-)

The latest version is in the other email, but also attached. I CAN
work on it, so you could also just send me the texts you want to have
included.

I'm working on the DOT announcement (the basics are there and it's not
much work anyway), btw. And I don't know if KOffice also has a
release, I'll ask them.

<h1>KDE 4.0 Beta 4 Release Announcement</h1>

<p>FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE</p>

<h3 align="center">
   KDE Project Ships Fourth Beta Release for Leading Free Software Desktop, Codename \
"Kippie" </h3>
<p align="justify">
  <strong>
    With the fourth beta, the KDE project would like to collect feedback to ensure \
the quallity of KDE 4.0. </strong>
</p>
<p align="justify">
$DATA, 2007 (The INTERNET).
</p>
<p>
$DOT-ANNOUNCEMENT
<p>
<h2>About KDE 4</h2>
<p>
KDE 4 is the next generation of the popular KDE Desktop Environment which seeks to \
fulfill the need for a powerful yet easy to use desktop for UNIX and LINUX \
workstations. The aim of the KDE project for the 4.0 release is to put the \
foundations in place for future innovations on the Free Desktop. The many newly \
introduced technologies incorporated in the KDE libraries will make it easier for \
developers to add rich functionality to their applications, combining and connecting \
different components in any way they want. </p>
<p>
The new Beta 4 incorporates many improvements from previous Beta and alpha releases: \
<a href="http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.0-beta3.php">Beta 3</a>, <a \
href="http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.0-beta2.php">Beta 2</a>, <a \
href="http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.0-beta1.php">Beta 1</a>, <a \
href="http://www.kde.org/announcements/announce-4.0-alpha2.php">Alpha 2</a> and <a \
href="http://www.kde.org/announcements/visualguide-4.0-alpha1.php">Alpha 1</a>. \
</p>/p> <h2>Beta 4</h2>
<p>
With the fourth Beta, the KDE developers hope to collect comments and bugreports from \
the wider KDE community. With their help, we hope to solve the most pressing problems \
with the current KDE 4 codebase to ensure the final 4.0 release is usable. We would \
like to encourage anyone who is willing and able to spend some time on testing to \
find and <a href="http://bugs.kde.org">report</a> problems to the KDE developers. You \
can find <a href="http://techbase.kde.org/Contribute/Bugsquad/How_to_create_useful_crash_reports">some \
documentation</a> on the pages of our <a \
href="http://techbase.kde.org/Contribute/Bugsquad">Bugsquad</a> and <a \
href="http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html">in other places</a>. \
There will be weekly <a \
href="http://aseigo.blogspot.com/2007/10/kde4-krush-days-saturday.html">KDE 4 Krush \
Days at saturday</a> and everyone is invited to help out. Having a recent SVN \
checkout (follow instructions on <a href="http://techbase.kde.org">techbase</a>) is \
great, but using the regularly updated <a \
href="http://home.kde.org/~binner/kde-four-live/">KDE 4 LiveCD</a>, while very easy, \
is also a big help to us. </p>
<h3>Improvements</h3>
<p>
This beta has mostly been focussing on fixing bugs and problems, and the amount of \
added features is small. The stability of the fourth Beta has been improved a lot \
compared to the previous Betas, even in those parts of KDE which are still being \
developed like <a href="http://Plasma.kde.org">Plasma</a>. The following section \
shortly highlights some of the feature additions done to KDE 4.0 Beta 4. </p>
<h4>Plasma</h4>
<p>
<a href="http://Plasma.kde.org">Plasma</a>, one of the more exciting components of \
KDE 4 again saw a lot of work again. Aaron Seigo gave us another status update: </p>
<p>

	</a><br />

</p>
<h4>Further improvements</h4>
<p>
BLABLA http://agateau.wordpress.com/2007/10/11/crop-this-sidebar-edition/ -> one \
thing! </p>
<h4>Release blockers</h4>
<p>
Several <a href="http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.0_Release_Beta_Goals">Beta \
Goals</a> have been formulated, and as long as these are not ready, we will continue \
to release Betas. The current expectation is that most of those will be fixed sooner \
rather than later, and blablablabla </p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
</p>
<p>
</p>

<h4>For developers</h4>
<p>
(release of the development platform, preferably including link)
</p>
<h3>Next Up</h3>
<p>
While the last improvements will be made in the coming weeks, as soon as the <a \
href="http://techbase.kde.org/Schedules/KDE4/4.0_Release_Beta_Goals">Betacycle \
objectives</a> are met, we will start preparing our first Release Candidate. This \
marks the beginning of a short period where we will allow only the most important \
bugfixes in preparation for the release. </p>
<h4>Get it, run it, test it...</h4>
<p>
For those interested in getting packages to test and contribute, several \
distributions notified us that they will have KDE 4.0 Beta 4 packages available at or \
soon after the release. The complete and current list can be found on the <a \
href="http://www.kde.org/info/3.95.php">KDE 4 Beta 4 Info Page</a>, where you can \
also find links to the source code, information about compiling, security and other \
issues. </p>
<h3>KOffice Alpha 5</h3>
<p>
(will there be a KOffice release?)
</p>

<br>
<i>Compiled by ... and ... with extensive help from the KDE community</i>
