Hello all,

1.
- The technical design of the win32 and Mac OS ports?
- The technical challenges facing the developers on win32 and Mac OS?
- The technical requirements for building KDE on win32 and Mac OS?
- The expected distribution strategy for KDE on win32 and Mac OS?

I would love to pick someones brain for the answers to these questions
and more concerning KDE running on multiple OS's. It sounds like a
huge undertaking to me, it would be cool to learn how it is being
done.

2.
- What parts of KDE are being ported?
- The rational for the porting?
- The probable impacts on the KDE project as we see it?

I think that having KDE work under divergent OS's will bring long
overdue attention to the talented people who work on KDE and 'Linux'
in general. I believe that it will enable people to more readily try
Open Source Software with much less trepidation. I would like to talk
with a cross section of people who work on all aspects of KDE to get
their opinions and thoughts on these questions and more.

3.
- Timelines?
- Support options?
- Future developments?
- KDE's long term goals?
- Changes in the structure of KDE?

From the outside looking in it seems that KDE is taking on an larger
role for itself, of its own volition. How did this come about? Who
figured out the best way to go about it? How do you plan to support
it? What do you still want to do that has not been done yet? Has this
caused the long term vision and structure of KDE to change?

I could go on, but I feel I am getting ahead of myself. I want you to
know that I am a fan of KDE. I think that there are a lot of people
doing great work with KDE that deserves to be brought to the attention
of the Linux and FOSS community at large. With your help, I hope to do
just that.

Sincerely, Scott Ruecker
