AFAIK, they don't use anything you could call a "DE". Their main app is
a Java-app handling all police-specific tasks (which is also the reason
why they could so "easily" move it on top of a Linux OS.

I may have the contact details of one of the responsible IT persons in
my luggage, which I could send to you in private mail, if you want to
find out more details....
