BTW, I noticed recently that not only heise, but also the linux-magazine has 
an event calendar. Is anyone feeling motivated to ask them to share their 
database with us? I could imagine 
a) that they provide a ics file for Get-Hot-New-Stuff 
b) that we feed events.kde.org/calendar
They even can get advertisement for free here...

If anyone is interested, I'll happily pass the email address of the right 
person at linux magazine to talk to. It also might be a good idea to again 
ask at heise (I think, they have the larger database), but I don't know the 
right person yet.
