/me glances over at coworker's laptop

yep. he uses his 333Mhz PII laptop w/64MB of RAM for email (KMail) and 
extensive web browsing / web app usage (Konqueror) ... this is an interesting 
excerise for KDE since he interacts with the system primarily through 2 
applications (KMail and Konqi) but uses a fairly wide array of applications 
to view/edit the files he gets with those apps (everything from images to 
simple office documents) ...

one of my friends uses KDE3 on a 48MB PII laptop as a sys admin station. 
basically uses konsole, konqi and a few admin apps on it. so the load is 
pretty light and the system is quite responsive.

so, yes, i'm sure there are people running KDE3 in 64MB of RAM, or less.
