------- Actually, this has stopped happening now... the only thing I can \
think of is that I changed the print manager to use a remote print server \
as opposed to a local one. I then used the tool to manage the remote \
server, and that somehow some of the settings leaked across from the local \
one to the remote one.

It works fine now - leaves the path settings as-is.
