I asked why and got an answer > so meaningless that I decided to continue calling KDE KDE. if you want a meaningful answer, i'd be happy to provide one off-list or on irc. i don't think it matters overly much if Every Last Person On Earth uses the "right" terminology in every case (though the closer we get to that, the easier it becomes), and i really don't want this thread to get sidetracked into a discussion about promo when the topic is supposed to be usability of our software being affected by jargon. note that "Compositing" is not a brand but jargon; it just happens that sometimes there is an overlap between using what is a (technical) brand name and jargon appearing in our UI. :) -- Aaron J.
