Kevin fixed a problem with change notifications a few days ago (so it=20 will be fixed in KDE 4.2.0). Most likely this is responsible for the=20 problems you noticed. Restarting Akonadi after making changes with=20 KOrganizer or KAddressBook should make KPilot see the changes.
