Yes, I'm definitely interested into improving the fancy header and make it 
look more modern, like the rest of the desktop.

You're actually the 3rd person bringing this up, there was a previous thread 
here (see http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.kde.devel.pim/22472), started by 
Kolja (who I think is "klebezettel" on IRC) and yesterday "ademmer" asked 
about this on IRC in #kontact.

It would be nice if you people could collaborate on this.
Shared headers between KMail, KNode and Akregator would be a nice goal.
