I think this is a bad idea. At least Kontact and its core plugins should=20 always be in KDEPIM. > Certainly, it is time for a review of what we have and what > we need to jettison into unmaintained. But, more importantly, > I simply don't see the our flagship apps being ready > in the next couple months. We should definitely disable apps which are not ready. The questions is: wh= ich=20 are those apps and can they be fixed instead? We should gather showstoppers on a wiki page and try to fix those issues. I= 've=20 started such a list at http://techbase.kde.org/Projects/PIM/KDE_4- related_bugs#Major_bugs_.2F_Showstoppers . I think KOrganizer, Kontact, KAddressbook, KMail and Akregator can be ready= =20 for 4.1. Again, if there are major problems with that, add them to the wiki= =20 page. A month before the release we should try hard to fix those, even if=20 we're not the maintainer of the respective app. I have no ideas about other apps (expect KAlarm and KTimeTracker, which bot= h=20 seem to be in very good shape). I would like to hear about all major KMail problems you guys still have. And I'll try to use Kontact4 for my daily work now (until now, I've only us= ed=20 KMail4), so I can find problems in the parts I use.
