I've seen that.  You wouldn't believe some of the requests for programs I've 
seen; any time people ask for "desktop-independent" releases, it's almost 
always a request for GTK+ based programs.  Then the Gnome users complain 
about any program that has a dependency on Qt.  I fail to understand why Qt 
dependencies are "bad" but GTK+ dependencies are okay.

And no, "Red Hat and Novell both use Gnome as their main desktop" is not a 
good reason, though it's the one given frequently...
