The typical way is to put the message in angle brackets, e.g. 
<http://bogus-server.corp.muidomain.com/axg/fran-apan?q_act=view&q_srn=1303&q_showdetails=y>

This works for me here, as long as I don't add spaces in the URI (which 
shouldn't happen anyway if properly escaped)
