I don't know about kitchensync, but kmobiletools main functions are (or are 
planned):
- Read/Write/Send SMS messages (exporting too, like in KMail)
- Read/Write Phonebook (exporting in KAddressBook)
- Read/Write Calendar
- Filesystem kioslaves (obex, p2k)
- Dialing system

I guess it shares calendar and phonebook with kitchensync, but kmobiletools 
does not a _real_ sync, just read and write.. we could count on kitchensync 
to do the real sync process, i guess.
