Hey Tom,

If I read your mail right, this should Just Work (TM).  I do this currently as 
a workaround for having to deal with an Exchange server at work.  I have a 
shell script that uses owaSync to retrieve all of my Exchange calendar and 
then merge it into my std.ics file.  At least on my machine (SUSE 10.1), 
korganizer automatically detects its file having changed and reloads the 
calendar.  I believe either KDirWatch or FAM provide this functionality.  You 
can test this out by doing "sleep 5 && touch 
~/.kde/share/apps/korganizer/std.ics" in konsole and then switching back to 
korganizer quickly.  If you see korganizer "blink" and refresh its calendar 
view, then it should work just fine.  =:)
