We eventually started our own library from scratch since we considered
it much harder to fix bugs in libical than to write a new parser
(actually its a SAX driver for our XML system plus some model classes
the SAX events are mapped to).

Its kinda unfortunate but I suppose it makes sense. The parser itself
is rather trivial and all the model is better implemented in the native
object system anyway.
Eg why should I bother with libical timezones if the Objective-C
Foundation library already provides all the timezone calculation
support? I suppose the same is true for KDE or GNOME.

best regards,
   Helge
