You have to enable the IMAP resource in KMail (Settings, Configure KMail, 
Misc, Groupware page). You then choose your cyrus inbox as the parent 
folder.

Then you open KControl and go to KDE Components, KDE Resources 
Configuration. Here you change the notes, calendar and contact: Add an 
IMAP resource, set it to standard, and remove the local file resource.

Then you can run the applications and see your events and so on being 
stored in the kmail folders. If you want to see this visually, you can 
uncheck the "hide groupware folders" in the kmail groupware setup.
