It's appropriate that the news icon has a picture of a soldier with a 
helmet.  :(

I think the word "News" should not be in English.  Perhaps just pixelate it 
somehow so it is language-neutral?

Also, icons with darker boundaries seem easier on the eye; for example, 
open OOo and then press Alt-Tab window--don't the OOo icons look better to 
you because of the darker boundary?  He does it in the largest icons--what 
about thicker and darker borders for the smaller versions?
