I have finally isolated the problem with LDAP and KMail.

On my screen, I do see LDAP requests being send and satisfied, however, I 
never see a pulldown in my email I am composing.  In an attempt to 
work-around this problem, I copied a few key entries from LDAP to my local 
address-book.  When I started to compose an email, I entered a partial 
address, and not only did the entries I copy show up, but also the other LDAP 
responses.....So it appears that the auto-completion drop-down only appears 
if there are local  entries are also found.

I will start to investigate why this is occuring, but I have not touch QT 
since the 1.4/2.0 timeframe.
