Just a reply to announce that I solved this one myself, sort-of, by assigning 
the Del key to the delete action in keyboard shortcuts.  What I had actually 
wanted was for KOrganizer to recognize the Del key whenever a to-do OR an 
event summary was highlighted.  I guess for now I'll settle for just deleting 
the to-do's :).
