In Kpilot we don't handle that at all. I just open the calendar, sync it and 
write it back. Everything else is the resource framework's task. Cornelius 
promised to fix this bad behavior, see the 2nd paragraph of
http://lists.kde.org/?l=kde-pim&m=104851036423969&w=2
