My KPilot sync well with visor/devfs
here is the log:
19:01:03 Could not open device: /dev/pilot (will retry)
19:02:18 Using character set ISO 8859-1 on the handheld.
19:02:18 Pilot device /dev/pilot doesn't exist. Assuming the device uses
DevFS.
19:02:19 Trying to open device /dev/pilot...
19:02:19 Could not open device: /dev/pilot (will retry)
19:02:23 Device link ready.
19:02:24 Checking last PC...
19:02:24 KPilot 4.4.0 (HEAD) HotSync starting...

19:02:24 [Conduit abbrowser_conduit]
......sync process........
19:02:30 No memos were changed.
19:02:32 No Files to install
19:02:32 End of HotSync

19:02:32 HotSync Completed.
19:02:34 Pilot device /dev/pilot doesn't exist. Assuming the device uses
DevFS.
19:02:35 Trying to open device /dev/pilot...
19:02:35 Could not open device: /dev/pilot (will retry)

The daemon will keep on querying the /dev/pilot(a symbolic to /dev/usb/tts/1,
in my case) and when it's available, the sync process will go. What you need
to do is grab the dmesg to see weather the visor module workes or not, and
provide the kpilot with the right parameters.
