You could help us by providing more information. If I were in a cynical mood, 
I'd tell you that NetBSD on the 68k doesn't support USB at all (for lack of 
hardware) and so it's never going to work and jpilot is an illusion. As it 
stands, I'll ask: what system (CPU, OS, distro if relevant), what hardware 
connection (serial, USB, IR) and what hardware (visor {,edge,pro,...}). And 
what software (KDE version, KPilot version, pilot-link version).

That said, a common problem is that you have the sync method set wrong. It 
should be set to "Old Style USB" in KPilot's configuration dialog 
_regardless_ of the kind of hardware you actually have. Later versions of 
KPilot don't have this option, and just do the right thing.

If the problem persists, you could compile KPilot from source with debugging 
enabled and help us out with finding the problem. You can get a modern KPilot 
snapshot with the build system from slac.com/adridg/kpilot_home under, um, 
news and then downloads. (Come to think of it, I do hope it has debugging 
set. Hm.)
