While looking at the karm code some months ago I thought it'd be nice to
make the mess better by putting things where they belong i.e. into
clearcut objects and to make those objects more intelligent.

As you have also seen there's code to update times all over the place.
Yes, this sucks.

But IMHO solving it by having allmighty "update time" routines and
similar, that will rescan the whole tree every time something (timer tick)
moves is not the right way to do it.

IMHO it's better to let individial tasks pass the time deltas up towards
the root. That's much easier on calculation and keeps responsability where
it belongs - in the object:
