What's the status of this? I was digging through all the conduits again and 
the popmail conduit in CVS HEAD is still the kinda sorry pre-ioslave one that 
we've always had (well, credit goes to Magi up in Turku for fixing the really 
sorry one from before that even). There was a hang condition in the popmail 
conduit as well, fixed by the SyncAction::exec() change.
