You are right. It shouldn't be stored in the addressbook.

Why don't you just store in a KOrganizer config file which entry is 
"me"? Or if it should be used by more apps, modify the email module of 
kcontrol, so that it doesn't store the data itself, but is used to 
select a libkabc entry.
