The first beta is said to be released around the middle of february - see
developer.kde.org for the schedule. Mailing lists is firmly in the KMail
department, send mail to kmail@kde.org for that or check the changelog for
KMail. I'm pretty sure it's supported though (I take it you mean
something like

alias "pets" = <dog@taber.com>, <cat@taber.com>, <hamster@taber.com>

as opposed to mailing list in the sense of kde-pim@kde.org).

As for syncing with the new  address book, the kpilot architecture has
been adjusted to use plugins and now supports USB devices in a sensible
way, though devfs is still problematic. As far as I can tell it syncs OK
though Greg's abbrowser conduit; it doesn't use the newer libkab yet.
