Hello,

I'm developing one small database application with PerlQt. It works
quite well, but one problem is, that I need to recode all sql
statements to iso-8859-2, since MySQL does not support unicode yet.
Now, if I insert an utf-8 string, all accents are replaced with "?".
I don't care in which coding will the data be stored, but I certainly
   need to preserve accents.

As perl and Qt strings are unicode by themselves, I can't recode it
to unicode in any way. I had success using DBI and DBD::MySQL, but
this way, the database widgets won't work. Any ideas?

BTW: Is someone actively working on KDE bindings to perl? Is there
some code I can try (even if it involves compiling recent KDE
snapshot from CVS). I would like to use Konqueror as a component.

       Thanks,

           Juraj.
