Plasma Team meeting, 31-7-2017

notmart:
* akademy
* gave two talks
* from component discussion, trying to get rid of plasma components 3

* Attended Akademy in Almeria
** Gave Input Methods presentation, seemed to be well-received
** Wrote a shitty ad-hoc patch adding KUserFeedback to plasmashell
but you would still expect it to have z order linked, darken the browser window etc
*** Then lost the patch, but now kinda understands a bit of KUF
** Kinda promised Volker to submit a patch for a new provider we can use to count things
* Immediate todos this week are Task Manager bugs
** 2-3 group dialog popup bugs
** The grouping proxy crash
* Need to come to grips about merging per-activity favorites with Ivan this week
* Want to get back to really focusing on Wayland protocol stuff after the above

- Ported "lux", motorola device from Helio to halium
- Hit a known issue with graphics (QTI_BSP enabled device)
- Ordered a device which have QTI_BSP enabled to debug and test fix for that issue (basically any non-Nexus Qualcomm device)

kbroulik:
* Put some work into Component Chooser KCM to make it more user-friendly (ie. a combobox for browser selection rather than just a text field), update http scheme handler when changing browser for better compat with 3rd party apps
* Cleaned up usage of .js files, make sure to use "pragma library" where possible to avoid it creating an instance of a JS file for every qml file it uses (especially for delegates)
* Fixed crash in global menu. Good news: Electron seemed to have fixed the bug in their global menu impl that causes it to break and eat all CPU

* Still stalled: kscreen OSD, dunno how to get positioning stable :(
* Blog about implementing the vision in mind
* I will be away next week
