Ok, I thought so, too, but I wanted to be sure that I'm not missing something

Why wouldn't it be desirable for plasma2? Sorry, but I'm not familiar with the
goals of plasma2...

I already looked at the code of Plasma::PopupApplet [1] with the hope of
finding a hidden way to the widget in the notification area, but I'm not sure
I'll have time for this in coming months :)
