Well, normally dbus and ksmserver.logout would be suggested. However,
seeing as it uses kworkspace, which is precisely what the logout
prompt does...that doesn't help much and probably wouldn't work, no
matter what you do ;-)
Not sure if there is a clean way of doing so, given your current
circumstances...
