Yes, it requires the containment to find out the mimetype of a remote file,=

and then downloading this file. I've now implemented this for the Picture=20
frame, and I need to fix up my patch that implementes the necessary changes=
 in=20
containment. I had hoped to get this into 4.3, but ran into issues I've not=
=20
yet been able to fix. See my email with subject "dropping remote content=20
vol.2" for the details. The idea is that we retrieve the mimetype through K=
IO,=20
then offer the applets that can handle that mimetype. The applets then need=
 to=20
understand how to load files from remote URLs by parameter. Use cases are=20
indeed dropping remote text files, HTML pages, pictures onto Plasma, but al=
so=20
passing data "by reference" (for example an akonadi:// url).

I'd like to make remote content on Plasma just work, though it'll require=20
fixing some applets (not that hard, once you know what's needed).

I'm still on it, though :)
