ugh, I hate that thing. what the hell does one bar mean? it could mean a
couple of hours or a couple of days, and different phones seem to scale it
differently (some look fully charged until they're near death, some are halfway
down when they've got days left). I really wish my phone would at least *try*
to tell me how much time I've got left. today I had to leave it charging when
I went out, again, because I woke up to the dying-battery sound. which itself
seems very vague - is it programmed to tell me it's dying when there's a few
hours left or a few minutes? I never have the patience to time it and write
down what these things mean... and that's why I don't find percentages very
useful either (although I still like knowing them. I like numbers). 10% on a
4-hour battery is very different from 10% on a 1-hour battery, and it's taken
me... eight months to properly get that into my head.

sebas wants to know if he can finish watching a movie, I want to know if I can
get through a lecture without running to grab one of the few power outlets
before someone else gets it. I've learnt that when I'm given a percentage, I
am very bad at estimating this. I don't want the computer to refuse to give me
any estimate just because it can't get it right down to the second :P if it
can make a better estimate than I can, then it's useful. heck, even if it can
get the same accuracy as me it's useful, because I don't want to have to do
all that mental math every time I'm wondering how much time I've got...
