If the animation already communicates that jobs are in progress, perhaps it would be sufficient \
to simply show one number that is the total(N+C+P). This keeps the at-a-glance information \
communicated to the user relatively simple. It would arguably cover most use cases where user \
is primarily interested in how many "notifications" and are any of them still "doing \
something". For the more detailed information about how many and which jobs are in progress or \
complete, the user can click to see.
