a few comics (like xkcd) provide an rss feed with the image right in there, so 
that you don't have to go to their site to view the comic. would it be 
possible to make use of this?
even the comics that don't do that often provide a feed with permalinks to the 
strips in the archive. at the very least, that would be useful for knowing 
when updates were posted, wouldn't it?
