Is it just my compile, or the background of the plasmoids is painted again,
and again and again over the previously painted background? You can check
this by adding the javascript-based clock that is repainted every second -
the background becomes more and more opaque. (the same is for the digital
clock - ut not every second, but every minute - when transition occurs).

Unfortunately, I have no time at the moment for bug hunting.

I noticed it aswell with the batteryapplet. The background should probably be
cleared before painting it.

Same with pictureframe (actually this "bug" is quite old).  Pictureframe doesn't even use the standard background, but the problem is still there.

Also neither Phase transition effects work anymore, maybe for the same reason.

However I noticed that with the new caching feature Plasma drawing performance are much higher now (mostly with stacked plasmoids); indeed now it seems possible even dealing with transformed plasmoids without burning the CPU :-D.

But is there a way for a plasmoid to activate/deactivate its paint cache?
